ABOUT

Monika Dolbniak is a sensory designer and researcher from Poland. She specialises in designing sensory-friendly textiles and fashion for highly sensitive and autistic users.

Through textiles, she explores how we can design, control, and measure senses to create multi-sensory textiles that improve object-user interaction. Throughout her research, she designs various textile applications for objects, clothing, and within spaces to develop communication tools that help in imagining one's sense of comfort in different sensory scenarios.

Monika holds a BA degree in Womenswear from the  London College of Fashion and MA degree in Textile design from the Royal College of Art. She is also a graduate of Westminster Kingsway College where she studied mental health and autism support in young people.

She has a rich experience in fashion and textile industries and has been working across design and product development departments. She currently works as a designer at Belgian brand SAM Sensory & More, and as a self-employed workshop facilitator and artist. She has also experience in SEND education in UK where she supported autistic and disabled children and young adults as a teaching assistant.
