Aim

The aim of my workshops is to inspire a more inclusive and solitary approach to sensory design and communication.

I run sensory integration workshops that enable participants to better understand their sensory needs and experiences within clothing, materials, and spaces; and learn how to best address them and improve their well-being through personalised multi sensory stimulation. This also supplements my own research practice.

Through sensory design workshops I teach how to use creative practices to discuss matters of comfort and well-being, and how to implement sensory and inclusive design strategies into design, communication, and branding processes.

For who?

I always tailor my workshops, and worksheet used, for each group and theme. My participants include design students, teachers, carers, parents, special needs children, psychologists and therapists, and highly sensitive individuals.

In the past I have run workshops for both children and adults, also including individuals who were non-verbal, autistic; or had learning, intellectual or physical disability.

What do workshops include?

Workshops are suitable for complete beginners as well as design professionals. During sessions it is possible to engage in mind-mapping and strategic activities through preprepared worksheets and templates. Often participants also engage in art activities, such as collaging, drawing, 3D making or prototyping.

Testimonials

I was very lucky to participate in one of Monika's sensory workshops. If you ever have a chance to join one of her workshops, seize the opportunity! We learnt so much about ourselves and how we process sensory input.

Outcome

Workshops can aim just to inspire some ideas but can also result in physical making of various 3D prototypes or 2D boards.
